"Not quite what i was expecting"

For the first time in 10 years I had to ring the out of hours doctor tonight because I was having slight trouble breathing and had a constant cough. When the Doctor rung me back I was asked why I hadnt rung my own GP about the problem, and when I explained that it had only worsened this evening and i couldnt get an appointment until Wednersday I was asked to wait until then! Although it isnt a total emergency, its very tiring having difficulty breathing normally and there was no way I could have waited another 2 days like this.

I was eventually offered an appointment time to go to the surgery and then the phone went dead - I dont think the doctor was going to be happy to see me!

However, when I got there i was straight in with about a minute waiting and was back at home 40 minutes after I set off. I couldnt fault the service in this respect but I felt the doctor could have perhaps asked me something more than whether or not I was asthmatic. I will be going to my own GP as soon as I can if it continues but I felt a bit let down with the lack of courtesy and interest shown by the doctor.
