"Unable to obtain my anti-psychotic medication"

About: Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT

(as the patient),

To cut a long story short I am finding it very difficult to obtain my anti-psychotic and anti-depressant from my local GP.

The reason is this - bar one of them - I am simply terrified of speaking to the receptionists. My GP will not prescribe more than 28 days at a time of each med - which in my opinion is not helpful as I have been on the meds for a couple of years. So....every 4 weeks I panic when I run out of meds - my symptoms become worse and I often get too scared and distressed to leave the house to put my repeat script in.

I tried to telephone once and received what I think was a very very frosty reception. As a result of these difficulties I have been without my medication all of this weekend and am feeling very confused and distressed.

Surely allowance can be made for those of us with mental health problems. Its not asking a lot to be able to simply make a phone call. I ask for no special treatment - its simply without this facility - I remain unmedicated, distressed and very angry about the situation.
