"Delays in heart treatment at LGI"

About: Leeds General Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I have been attending the heart clinic at Jubilee wing medical Centre in Leeds General Infirmary for years now.

In November 2009, I was told I would be booked for an appointment but that that appointment never happened till about 8 months ago.

I made it known to the surgery that I wasn't pleased about this and they apologised. They however didn't tell me the reason for the delay in my appointment. Appointments which are delayed for about a week or two is understandable but for 8 months, that's just unbelievable.

I finally saw the doctor just two weeks ago and he decided to change my medication, but in order to do that, he needed to study the angiogram taken two years ago. He advised me to be pro-active and contact the hospital if I didn't hear from him in 2 weeks.

After not hearing from him for 2 and half weeks, I called the hospital only to be told that they had not received any response from the doctor and that the doctor is not available. How can a whole hospital not know the whereabouts of their so called "qualified doctors"?

8 weeks have gone by and I still haven't heard from the doctor, had my medication changed nor received results from the angiogram checking.
