What I liked
All the staff at every level were so friendly, caring, sympathetic and professional. They seemed genuinely interested in me and I was never made to feel like just another patient on a conveyor belt. The nursing staff in particular were superb.
What could be improved
I don't know how this could be avoided, but it was awkward having to answer very intimate questions behind only a thin curtain which meant everyone else on the ward could plainly hear the conversation. It would be tempting to withhold information because you didn't want others to hear, which in turn might affect the treatment you receive if the medical staff don't have all the facts.
Anything else?
Just a big thank you. So often we only hear about things that go wrong in the NHS, when in reality, day after day, it does a fantastic job. The nursing staff deserve particular praise. Some of the things they have to do are pretty grim yet they were cheerful the whole time.
