What could be improved

I have had the dubious pleasure to visit the A&E department of you hospital approximately three times in the last 6months and i have to say that unless it is a matter of live and death (and then i would probably prefer to expire at home) i will not visit your A&E department again. The first time was for myself with what i considered to be a badly cut finger i waited 4hours to be told that for some reason i was not on the "the list" after 4hours i was slightly miffed and left after being told more serious cases were being dealt with first which i agree with totally, but i watched the waiting room slowly decline of patients that had obviously arrived after me and were being seen before me, when of course i complained that was when i was told my name could not be found, which led to my exit. The second time i visited this department was with my mother an 89 year old lady, who we thought could have broken her hand, we did on this occasion manage to get to x-ray, and it transpired my mother had an infection, i think on this occasion we waited 41/2 hours to be seen by a doctor which was bad enough in my case but certainly not on for an 89 year old who had been sat in a wheelchair for all this time. The outcome of this fracas was that we were told it would probably be better if we went back the following morning we were issued with a piece of paper for this purpose and went off home without any medication for my mother and really no better off . So i had to get my mother out of bed the following morning at 8.30 to take her back again. The third visit was today, joy of joy, a 1 1/2 hour wait according to the monitor became a three hour wait with my mother who had fallen has osteoporosis, sat there while according to the receptionist "cuts and bruises" were being attended to and my mother needed to see a doctor, no doctor in three hours?

Anything else?

where in the scheme of things do cuts and bruises take priority to and 89 year old lady sitting in a wheelchair for three hours in a great deal of pain(please dont say we should have asked for pain killers as i had given some to my mother before leaving the house) and as far as anyone knew could have done serious harm to her back. We were eventually sent through the elusive door 2 after a good deal of complaining although i suspect that was to keep us quiet, as on speaking to the nurse she did not have a clue when we were going to be seen apparently there were two children who were ill, this i understand as i have a daughter and granddaughter myself, but it is a sad state of affairs when there are no other doctors to attend to other people especially the elderly like my mother.Again we made an exit again no better off for our long wait,i shall take my mother to see her own doctor tomorrow and ask for an x-ray at the haywood, What can you improve? well as far as i am concerned just about everything.
