What could be improved
i had gamma ray scans taken in the nuclear physics department. for some reason the scans were never 'reported'- which basiclally means a radiographer views them and says yes they are clear scans and then sends them onto the relevant consultant/surgeon. when i called the department to find out why the scans had not been reported after my surgeon had informed me he couldnt give me any information as the scans werent available over two weeks after being taken, i was told there was a delay- when i asked why there was a delay, the person in the department on the phone put the phone down on me. it was only after complaining to the patient liason dept, the hospital complaints dept, and the chief executive of the hospital that my scans were dealt with, although this has lead to a delay in me getting onto the surgery waiting list. i can only say i am glad that my surgery is being done in a different hospital. it is not acceptable for staff to put the phone down on people just because they are asking questions.
Anything else?
