"We visited the Harris Birthright Centre..."

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Gynaecology

What I liked

We visited the Harris Birthright Centre for a 20 week scan. We were seen within 10 minutes of our appointment (much more quickly than with our previous child, incidentally). There were 2 sonographers in attendance, both of whom were very friendly and took us through exactly what they were doing and why which is so important when you're nervously staring at the scan image wondering what's what and whether everything is OK.

They also gave us a couple scan pictures at no charge, which was nice.

We were offered the chance of having a 3D scan because the unit was carrying out research, which we took up. It meant we had to wait longer and the scan itself bizarrely took place in a room about the size of a broom cupboard, but again the staff were excellent and it was amazing to see the 3D scan and get an image of our baby.

What could be improved

Nothing of any great importance.

Anything else?

Thank you to all the staff at the Harris Birthright Centre for making what should be happy experience exactly that.
