"Very little. Some of the staff were ..."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

What I liked

Very little.

Some of the staff were very helpful and clearly had the right personalities required to be involved in a supposedly caring profession. Sadly one of the senior staff, the ward manager, were extremely arrogant, was contemptuous of patients and visitors alike. I'm not sure why she does the job. If you hate it so much that you're unable to disguise your feelings then leave. Her attitude was a bad example to others, clearly affected the atmosphere (things were much better when she wasn't there) and it was shameful that there were student nurses in earshot of her whinging.

The junior doctors didn't inspire confidence but sadly that's what you're stuck with.

What could be improved

Initiate effective management to ensure that all inpatients and visitors are treated in the manner with which you'd want to be treated yourself. I don't think the staff realise that they will probably require hospital treatment at some point in their lives, most likely when they're older and more vulnerable. How would they like it if they're treated with indifference and rudeness?

Anything else?

Is there any point to having this facility on the website. What actually happens in response to these comments? I'd guess they're treated with as much apathy as exists with some of the staff I've experienced.
