I had a seizure at home and was treated at Warrington hospital for alcohol dependency.
On the day I came out, a hospital worker gave me the number of Ashley house. I was assessed, and started treatment for alcoholism in a day group ( trust the process ), 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for 12 weeks with the option of a second 12 weeks treatment.
I am now at the end of my 24 weeks and have been clean and sober for over 6 months, it works, nothing else ever has. This is my last chance and I have embraced it completely, the standard of care is second to none and has changed my life completely.
I realise there are a limited number of places but feel very strongly that this treatment is the only way forward for the many, many people just like me. I am one of the very lucky few to get this treatment and I am alive to write this now, I would not be here now without it.
More investment in this area is vital in the fight against the illness of addiction, for more staff, bigger premises, and more advertising.
"How trust the process found me."
