What could be improved

when visiting my mother today I was horrified at the lack of respect and understanding shown by a member of staff. My mother is eighty-two years old, very frail, has a bad chest infection and dementia. While in conversation with a dietician,we were rudely interrupted by someone coming to check by mother's blood sugar. While I realise this has to be done I do not expect the sharps box and other equipment to be literally dumped on the tray my mother was eating off. We were mid conversation and treated very rudely. In confidence, away from my mother, we explained how confused she is and that her behaviour is sometimes not correct especially with food. This information was promptly relayed back to my mother, very loudly, in front of other patients and visitors. To finish off, this person, who seems incapable of speaking quietly, very loudly then made some personal and very inappropriate comments about myself while I was in the process of taking my mother to the toilet. This person was , at the time, sitting down having a chat with another visitor. I find this behaviour completely unacceptable and extremely rude. My mother has dementia, she is not stupid. She may be old and frail but she is still entitled to be treated with respect as are her visitors. This member of staff needs to learn some basic manners.

Anything else?

my sister-in-laws comments as to some of the staff being not of the right frame of mind, bare ou t my comments 15 months ago when I wrote on this sight. nothing much has changed it would seem, how sad! does no-one who matters ever read our comments?
