About: RAVENSTHORPE HEALTH CENTRE DEWSBURY WEST YORKS

(as the patient),

There are approx 10,000 patients at the practice at Ravensthorpe health Centre Dewsbury and only 2, yes 2, disabled parking bays. How ridiculous is this? Oh Yes there's lovely green grass going to waste and needs maintaining but how on earth are disabled patients expected to attend the surgery when they cannot park?

It is nigh on impossible to park on the road side due to the building being next to and centred on industrial territory with large vehicles needing to gain access. This is not the first complaint I have personally made and believe me it will not be the last. Promises of an investigation yet to come.

Come on PCT, get your finger out and the powers that be and assess the situation once and for all.

The number of parking spaces including disabled spaces was approved at planning stage.

Since the HC has opened we have investigated

1. Forming car park spaces between the HC and the public park (accessed behind the library). With extension to the library this option was not viable.

2. Forming parking spaces between the HC and the school boundary but there is insufficient turning space to utilize this area.

3. Requested that the car park for the Sure Start centre be made available to generally increase the available parking for the Health Centre but this was rejected.
