"I just had a frustrating, disappointing..."

About: Ipswich Hospital

What could be improved

I just had a frustrating, disappointing and unpleasant 20-week ultrasound scan in Ipsiwch NHS. The whole process only takes 5-6 minutes, no clear show or explanations on baby's parts, questions only got answered when you asked and a couple of requests were even rejected and judged (when I asked to see baby's fingers and toes), only very cold checking process and stubbon routines. Not warm, not impersonal, just no emotions - isn't the last chance to see the baby before it's delivered supposed to be a fullfil and pleasant thing?

When I complained afterwards to the senior midwife, to the sonographer and their manger, all I got back in the long call is loads of excuses and long, tedius policy explanation, nothing helpful. They always say they are very busy, always fully booked, no time for such and such, what they can offer is the minimum - to tell you whether the baby is healthy in 5 minutes and that's it.

Again, very disappointed experience in my lifetime, but nothing I feel I can do except hoping my baby is healthy. If this is the service that NHS Ipswich can offer, what else can I expect? I've decided not to have my baby delivered in Ipswich NHS.
