"Humiliated and upset in A&E"

About: Derriford Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

I took my 3 year old son into A&E after his little sister hit him on the head and hand with a wooden toy and after waiting around 2 hours to be seen, we were BOTH ask a lot of questions regarding what happened even after I had explained what happened.

I took him in because I care about his health and well being! I felt so angry, humiliated, upset and most of all threatened, after this. I should be able to take my children into the doctors or hospital without reproach, not like someone guilty before proven innocent and them trying to catch me out by asking the same questions twice in case I am liar. I never want to experience that again, how horrible. I tell you this, when you love your children more than anything in the world there is nothing worse than been treated like that and there is no excuse regardless of what other people have done there is no right to think that everyone else is a bad person and to treat them so. In my opinion, all this will do is put caring parents off taking there children into hospital. Absolute madness, what is going on?

How would you feel if your 3 year child had been asked 'who did it?' We were made to feel like such bad people and this experience left us feeling sick to the core.
