"Not enough nurses for patients"

My mother was recently in Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital and sadly mine is a complaint, not a thank you or praise...

There are many issues that I could raise and I am presently gathering together information to present a case to the Trust as I think my mother was badly treated bordering on neglect. She lost 1 stone in weight within 3 weeks and it was the family that had to point this out to the nursing staff otherwise I believe it would have gone completely unnoticed. I cannot mention the other issues I am raising at this point but thought I would share this.

We were continuously told that there were not enough nurses for patients and I felt this was quite obvious on every visit. Many times I and my family members helped and assisted patients to get to the W.C. after they had waited extreme amounts of time after ringing for the nurses.
