"I had my first baby at NWPH back in 2005..."

What I liked

I had my first baby at NWPH back in 2005 which was truly atrocious, however this time round I had a great experience. Unfortunately my baby ran into complications and I was given a emergency c-section. Everything was well explained and I was treated with lots of TLC as I was quite distressed myself. After the delivery my baby developed complications and had to spend a few days in the Special Care Baby Unit. I was amazed at how quickly he was rushed to SCBU and how empthatic the midwifes were. I was given my own room so I did not have to endure the pain of seeing all the other mothers with their babies for which I was thankful.

The staff in SCBU were truly awesome! Dedicated, caring and truly exceptional. I cannot believe how much NWPH has improved as I had vowed never to return there after the birth of my first child. Everything has improved from cleanliness to the attitude of the staff.

What could be improved

Meals were a bit lack lustre and boring. It would have been nice to have some fruit as a alternative dessert.

Anything else?

Car parking charges are atrocious. They should be reviewed as my partner was unable to come in and see me as often as he would liked due to the sheer cost of parking there. Also not a convenient place to get to when travelling later in the evening with a small child in tow.
