"I attended the Walk In clinic today..."

What I liked

I attended the Walk In clinic today (Sept 2010). It was a very positive experience. I did not have to wait long (unlike my GP surgery where it is common to wait 30-45mins for a pre booked appointment). Staff were polite and helpful (unlike my GP surgery). The Nurse that I saw was approachable and thorough. The waiting area was clean and had windows and doors open, letting in fresh air (unlike my GP surgery which is dirty and has no ventilation).

What could be improved

More seating.

Anything else?

More Walk in Centres please!! I work full time, leaving home early in the morning and getting home in the evening. I cannot get an appointment when I need it without taking time off work. I am a locum and this costs me money. The surgery offers a 'late' evening but it has been fully booked on the rare occasion when I have needed it. I rarely use the NHS as I prefer complementary therapies. When I do have to use the NHS it is usually a disappointing experience. So it was nice to have a positive experience today.
