"As we live in Stevenage, we usually..."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

As we live in Stevenage, we usually attend Lister. My daughter had an MRI scan at Lister a couple of months ago where the staff were unfriendly, did not explain anything to her, did not reassure her and shouted at her when she moved even though she had not been told not to. The area was filthy and we felt uncomfortable.

This week she was called to the QE2 for another scan. What a pleasant experience. She was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. The nurse explained everything to her and told her everything that was happening all the way through the (very uncomfortable) procedure. She reassured her at every stage and made her feel very relaxed.

The waiting area was comfortable and looked spotlessly clean.

Am hoping now that all of our appointments can take place at the QE2 as it is well worth travelling to.

Thank you for such a great service!

What could be improved

On this occasion, nothing at all.

While delighted to hear of your recent experience of the QEII's MRI scanning service, we were disappointed to learn of your concerns about its sister service at the Lister. We'll be sharing your feedback with both teams for them to reflect upon.
