At the end of June 2009 I was taken ill. My legs folded under me and i had no feeling for about half an hour, then i was sick all night.
The next day i went to my doctor and told all my symptoms that by this time were getting worse. She told me to go for blood tests and an xray on my neck that had really started hurting.
The next day i was taken to Colchester hospital. By this time i could not keep awake, I was there for four hours, they could not find what was wrong with me and refused to xray my neck, then sent me home.
My family got the feeling they thought i was drunk or on drugs but this was not said outright to them.
2 days later they called for an ambulance from Clacton. The ambulance people were rude and my family had to argue with them before they would take me.
One hour after they came they took me out of the house by forcing me to stand and kicking my heels to make me walk to the ambulance, saying that I would probably be sent home.
At Colchester hospital they lost my notes for a while. By this time I was out of it and could only say when I needed the toilet. I asked to go and was taken by wheelchair.
45 mins later my daughters found me still on the toilet on my own, asleep. 30 hours later I was transferred to Queens Hospital with a bleed on the brain that was a week old.
