"Poor care received by Lewisham Hospital"

I feel I must complain about the appalling treatment my husband is at present receiving from Lewisham Hospital.

My husband suffers from chronic hardening of the arteries. He had an appointment with the consultant in July, who ordered, with some urgency, an angiogram and an angioplasty to be undertaken.

Unfortunately the night prior to this procedure he suffered a severe bout of diarrhoea and sickness and therefore had to cancel. Another appointment was made, post haste, for mid-August, this was cancelled by the hospital the day before due to the machine not working.

Again another appointment was made for mid-September, this time to be carried out at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Woolwich. Again he has just had a telephone call (the day before!) telling him that the procedure has been cancelled.

My husband has had two pre-operative assessments, I have arranged to have leave from work to transport him, taken I might add from my holiday entitlement, and they, at the drop of a hat, cancel with no consideration for the overall inconvenience, stress and negative impact on our working and personal lives.
