"My mother-in-law who is 89 broke her hip..."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

What I liked

My mother-in-law who is 89 broke her hip and was admitted to Bartlett Ward for her operation which was delayed for 4 days. She also has other medical problems that the staff would not take on board or listen to us. She's now been transferred to Victoria ward where she is in a bed that requires the staff to move her if she wishes to sit up. She is left laying on her back, the staff are too busy to see to her needs. Her food is left on the side with her water so that she cannot reach or see it. To be told by the staff that they understaffed and that we are welcome to come in to feed her, since being in the RHCH my mother-in-law has lost 7lbs in weight. She has been shouted at in other wards by nursing staff and left in her soiled clothes and bedding even though she has pressed the buzzer for the nursing staff and then left naked until they can be bothered to clean her.
