"Slow diagnosis in Queen Margaret Hospital"

In October 2008, I went with my older brother to (first of all) Victoria Hosp A&E Dept, as for the past 6 months I had been suffering from chronic stomach pains.

I was taken to and admitted to the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline first of all to Ward 11, then later on to Ward 18.

Whilst I was in Ward 11, I was told I would be taken for a scan on my Gallbladder, Kidneys etc, so as per usual I wasn't given any food or drink beforehand, all I was given was a "lolly" to wet and dab on my lips. I was waiting and waiting, until 3pm I asked about it only to be told I wasn't having the scan, so basically I sat there starving for most of the day and probably almost dehydrated. I spent about 5 days in ward 11 as it was an admitting ward only.

I was moved to ward 18, which I am sure is the ward or the ward next to the ward that had the MRSA fiasco. But they knew I have health anxiety, so why would they do that to me?

They did the scan and found nothing, and was going to send me home, until I kept being sick and my mum got involved (handy having a nurse for a mum sometimes) and I was taken for an endoscope (this was in the 2nd week of my stay there), and they found what was wrong, a sliding Hiatus Hernia... It took 2 weeks to diagnose this, yet I had all the symptoms.

I don't know if its me, but I think that because my mum is a nurse, I was treated differently from other patients. I feel I was looked down on and was hardly spoken to or even asked if I was ok.
