"My Granny's "stay" in Victoria Hospital"

In November 2007, my granny was admitted to the Victoria Hospital with a possible UTI. Everyone in my family knew that with her age and her ailing health it was almost time for her, but not that fast.
Whilst she was still alive she was treated appallingly in my mind. She was only given certain things because she "wouldn't" take them. Yet when my mum (who is a nurse of 32 years herself) tried to give her food/drink she would take it. I remember vividly a conversation my mum had with a nurse on the ward one night, I cant remember the ward unfortunately, but this nurse was the rudest nurse I have ever met in my life, I felt that because she knew my mum was a nurse for so long, she knew better because of newer technology etc. But in my opinion General Nursing was all the same then and now.
Both my mum and I (I have no nursing knowledge whatsoever) felt that this nurse was speaking rubbish and we asked to see a doctor, to which we did and he just agreed with the nurse. I believe she said something before he saw my mum.
My Granny passed away on over Christmas 2007 and to this day I blame the hospital, mainly because she had gone in hospital before with the same complaint and come out fine. Also since then I have developed anxiety and mild to moderate depression which I fell is because of this and I think the hospital should be aware of the consequences this can have on young people (I was 22 at the time).
