"The nurses and staff on Ward 6 were so..."

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

What I liked

The nurses and staff on Ward 6 were so kind helpful and cheerful, all of them had a smile for the patients, which made our stay extra special and comfortable. They treated ALL THEIR patients with respect and maintained the dignity of the patient in all cases, i was very impressed. They work so hard and never stop on their shift barely having time to have their coffee break. I am sure sometimes they these very important and much needed breaks.

What could be improved

It is impossible to sleep with all the noise the patients themselves make, shouting , coughing, snoring, talking to each other or themselves way past 10pm. Also the corridors where the nurses station is place with the ward doors open does carry all sounds, telephones; voices, not whispered, doors banging, draws clanging and all sorts of noises all through the night, which makes it very difficult to sleep!! but otherwise it is a fantastic place to be nursed and looked after, fed, washed and cared for in all respects. except sleep.
