I was attending an excellent team of physiotherapists at another hospital in the trust. My GP and I were unhappy at a posited diagnosis and my GP wanted me to be seen by an orthopaedic consultant. The appointment was arranged but I was not seen by a surgeon but by a physiotherapist.
Rather than being able to to discuss the matters which were concerning me I had to listen to a pep talk about the importance of doing my exercises. I felt humiliated and depressed by the experience.
I had put a great deal of hope into this visit that I would be able to discuss matters which were concerning me. I felt the there was a lack of respect shown both to me and my GP. It wasted my time and it wasted public funds - nothing positive was achieved.
The appointment took place within 10 mins of the stated time which was really good as the waiting area is very poor.
