"I feel she is not to be trusted and she's unfit to practice"

(as the patient),

I have been 'cared for' by a psychiatrist for many years and I feel that they have misdiagnosed and mistreated me and have abused their position by misusing antipsychotic medication in my care plan. I also feel that they have been inappropriate with me, which has had a big impact on my life.

I have been on antipsychotic drugs throughout the years of what was in my opinion dreadful care. The side effects of these drugs has been significant. I have tried my best to get away from this psychiatrist. I have reported them to Gwent Healthcare 3 times, most recently in 2008, but I feel I've been blocked.

I've had no response back, I've had to continue with them. I've made a complaint to the health board too. They've now agreed to look into all complaints. I've been transferred back in October 2008, to a psychiatrist who is much better. My antipsychotic meds were discontinued in November 2009. I'm now fully well alive again.

I've seen 2 other consultants psychiatrists since then, I've not needed a treatment order. I believe the psychiatrist I was under for all those years had no respect for vulnerable patients. I believe their top priority was them self, not their patients.

I just have one appointment left, an after care assessment, to be fully released. I feel this person is not to be trusted and is unfit to practice. All the other docs and CPNs have been excellent, dedicated and helpful.
