"My mum was very happy with the care she received"

About: Rotherham PCT / Tissue viability service

(as a relative),

I took my mum to the ulcer clinic at Barbers Avenue, Rawmarsh in August. Although my mum does not actually suffer with leg ulcers she has suffered with varicose veins for years which causes her a lot of pain and discomfort.

Helen, the tissue viability nurse, was really nice to my mum. She treated her very kindly, with both dignity and respect. Helen listened to my mum's problems and did a thorough assessment which included a doppler to check her circulation and measured her for support stockings.

My mum was very happy with the care she received and is now reassured that everything is being done to prevent her developing leg ulcers in the future.

As part of my role, I support clinical services who undertake patient and public involvement on behalf of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust which helps us to develop or redesign our services with patients in mind, from the valuable feedback we are given.
