What I liked
The Maternity Unit Reception Team are very friendly.
What could be improved
The midwife I spoke to about giving birth at the unit was friendly and unhelpful. Essentially she told me that you don't have a choice with the NHS, you have to go to your local hospital and if you are from outside the area you are just not welcome. They would not listen to me, were dismissive of the research I had done about other hospitals (leading to Frimley being my preference), and had me in tears by the end of the conversation. At 23 weeks pregnant, it was a conversation I did not expect to have with someone from a hospital that comes so highly rated. In summary, if you are local to Frimley you are welcome, if you are more than a 20 minute drive away you are not.
Anything else?
If the Frimley Maternity Unit are this unfriendly, I pity anyone from outside the area who has to go there in an emergency.
