Waiting time on letters being typed.

My mother is waiting on an urgent eye operation, and has been refered to the QA from the Isle of Wight, I don't have a problem with this. However we were informed that there is a 4 week waiting time on the letters from Consultants to be typed and sent out. Which means it would be at least 5 weeks before the tape recording would have been heard and typed up, each week there is a delay means less sight my mother will keep. This is unacceptable in a new hospital where millions of pounds have been spent, we were informded the the recordings are sent off site !!!!! Why ?
