"I was in the maternity section and..."

About: St James's University Hospital

What I liked

I was in the maternity section and labour ward.I was supposed to have my child at lgi but was full so had to go here while in labour. I was straight in a room by myself with a midwife with me most the time.I was told what was happening and going to happen at all times as wasn't at Pontefract where had previous child. The midwife was recently qualified and anything they were not sure of they asked someone else, they put me at ease and i had a wonderful experience mainly because of her and staff that assisted.I can t remember their name but i would like them to get a big thank you! When in labour at a scary time a good midwife makes all the difference. I had to stay in as blood presure was high and all nurses and midwifes i came across were so caring and helpful.

All staff were great top marks to st james, maternity section

What could be improved

Nothing

Anything else?

If i had another child i would like to be here again and not to my local hospital.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback your recent positive experience of child birth at St James's University Hospital.

I was pleased to hear you were informed at all times throughout labour about your care and that the midwives looking after you made child birth a pleasant experience.

We will pass on your comments to the midwives at St James's University Hospital via the Patient Relations Manager at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Thank you once again for your comments.
