What could be improved
A relative of mine was in the hospital for two weeks in June. Since then she has attended the anti coagulant clinic, at first weekly and now every two weeks.
She is due to have a scan and some pulmanory tests next week.
It is now more than 5 weeks since she was discharged - no one she has seen has taken the time to explain why the process is so lengthy. or why it is that there is no consultant on hand during her visits to the hospital to see how poor her general health is and the impact of casually reducing her medication without monitoring the effect that it has on her day to day condition.
Anything else?
What is the procedure to speak a Consultant to enquire about the overall care a patient is receiving.
