"My young son was admitted as a day case,..."

About: Chelsfield Park Hospital

What I liked

My young son was admitted as a day case, having been referred via the Princess Royal. Following an initial pre-op appointment the week before we were met by the same kind and caring staff on the day who made sure we were informed and reassured throughout.

My son had his own private room, with TV (great for reducing pre-op nerves!) and the nurses had made sure the toys he had seen from his pre-op appointment were waiting in the room when we arrived. The rooms were great, more like a hotel than hospital, clean and inviting. Food and care was excellent. There was plenty of space for us to stay with my son throughout.

The staff made sure I was with my son right up until he went into theatre and immediately there when he woke.

What could be improved

As per the previous comment, parking at the hospital can be tricky.

Anything else?

The staff, in particular the children’s nurses, made what could have been a very difficult day as easy as it could be. Thank-you.
