"I felt very nervous and very undignified"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital

(as the patient),

I had to visit the Cardiology Department at the Royal Gwent. Firstly there was no nurse available for my urine specimen which I was asked to bring in the appointment letter. Then a man doing my ECG came forward to escort me to room for this but told me I did not need my husband with me it was only an ECG. This did not worry me until I was in the room and he asked me to strip to the waist. I took my top off and sat on the bed feeling very uncomfortable. I asked for a robe but was told I did not need it. There was no-one else in room so I felt very nervous and very undignified. He then told me to take my bra off. At which point I said I was uncomfortable and wished for my husband to be present. He was ok with this and went to get him. But I felt I should not have been put in this position and there should have been a nurse available for his benefit as much as mine.
