My GP referred me to the othopaedic unit at the Cumberland Infirmary at the beginning of June (over a month ago).
I received a prompt response from "Choose and Book" but when I tried to access my referral code on-line I was simply told that "there are no appointments available". I rang "Choose and book" and was told the same thing but that they had contacted the hospital and I should receive a response within two weeks.
Nothing happened so I talked to my GP again who said she would contact the hospital directly. Today I was told by the surgery to ring the hospital appointments dept myself and I was told that "there are no appointments available".
Two questions. Firstly, why is the orthopaedic unit at Cumberland Infirmary so under-resourced and secondly, why can't the appointments system communicate better?
"No appointments at Cumberland Infirmary?"
