"The ward was light, airy and very clean...."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital

What I liked

The ward was light, airy and very clean. Staff were wonderful, that includes domestic staff as well as medical staff.

What could be improved

Timing of meds. These timings were a moveable feast - sometimes we did not get our medication until very late at night. Sometimes the physios were at our beds before we had even had morning analgesics!

Anything else?

I was admitted for a kneecap replacement to Ward T3. The staff could not have been kinder or more considerate.

The dometic staff all worked very hard, as did the nurses. I never felt that any of the staff were unwilling to do anything.

The food was excellent and I applaud the kitchen staff for making such a variety available. There was a wide choice at each meal.

I certainly have no qualms about having my other knee operated on!

Thank you for taking the time to inform me of your recent experience whilst you were an inpatient on Ward T3 at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

I am very pleased to hear that you were treated with kindness and consideration, that the staff worked hard and that the food on offer met your needs.

I am however sorry to hear that the timing with which medication was administered, could have been improved upon.

I will ensure that your comments are passed onto the staff on Ward T3 for them to pursue.

Thank you once again for taking the time to provide the Trust with this feedback.
