What could be improved

I visited a relative this week on Lyndon 4. The ward looked filthy. The wall behind the patient's bed had what looked like dirty hand marks all over it. Under the beds had obvioulsy not been swept never mind mopped for a while and the window frames were very dusty.

In comparison to other hospitals i have visited recently this was dreadful.

Cleanliness is key to patients recovery and the control of infection. Why is the ward not clean? and why are the nursing staff on this ward not highlighting this fact?

I am sorry to hear that the ward appeared to be dirty. We absolutely agree that high standards of cleanliness is vital. We monitor the cleaning on our wards very closely and I have passed your comments on to the head of the cleaning team. Mike Sharon Acting Chief Executive
