What I liked
The nursing staff were great - not only did they take good care of my son on the day unit but they also recognised that parents of children being operated on have physical & emotional needs too. Being kept well informed about what would/had happened was a big help to me. Providing tea & biscuits whilst my son was in surgery was a caring & thoughtful touch. It is a shame that I can't name individuals as the male nurse who dealt with my son today was particularly worthy of a mention.
What could be improved
Whilst most of the Doctors & the anaethetist were great, the 'bedside manner' of the surgeon was poor, he came across as unfriendly & rather 'holier than thou'; the rest of the team were great with my son - chatting & joking with him to keep him relaxed but his surgeon did not have the same rapport.
"The nursing staff were great - not only..."
