"The Phlebotomy department was supposed..."

About: Andover War Memorial Hospital

What could be improved

The Phlebotomy department was supposed to open at 0730 but failed to do so until 0745. The person who unlocked the doors offered no excuse or justification but was offhand and patronising with the dozen or so of us who were waiting. I was 5th in the queue and eventually had my blood taken at 0815 again without any apology for the delay. A gentleman in an adjacent cubicle who had the temerity to complain was treated with contempt and was told that they do not open at 0730 as advertised but arrive for work to set up at that time and open doors when they are ready. I have had a blood test many times at the hospital and have found since the move from the old location that the facilities have improved but the staff have gone in the opposite direction. They have a patronising and self righteous attitude which needs to be addressed by the management.
