"I felt like a trouble maker"

About: North Yorkshire and York PCT

(as a relative),

A member of my family has moved to the Westerdale ward,

So far I have been unable to see my relatives care plan or any type introductory information telling me how the service will support my family member.

When I have called, I feel, the person on reception fails to write down messages so it might days before the patient knows that I want to speak to them.

All I want to know is that my relative has an allocated nurse. When I question what I feel is a lack of support services or the why phone line doesn't work, it appears to me, I am treated like a trouble maker and I worry that this will have damaging effect not on myself but on my relative.

In my opinion the outlook towards the patients in the ward lacks positivity and constructive support to the individuals personal wellbeing and their relatives.
