"Cancellation woes"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was allocated a cardio appointment at the Royal Sussex which fell at a time when I was overseas. I rang to cancel on thirteen separate occasions. Each time, I got through an answer machine that didn't take messages. Tried direct lines and switchboards, to no avail.

In the end, I had to give up. And then, after the date of the appointment, I received a snotty letter from the hospital complaining that I didn't turn up. Rather insulting.
