What I liked
I was admitted for an operation to remove my appendix and was impressed by the Admissions procedure and the meetings with the Surgical team. The operation and recovery went very well and I was able to be discharged the next morning.
The Surgeon and Anaesthetist gave a full insight to the procedure and what I could expect and at every stage I was treated extremely well by a very competent and friendly team. The nursing care after the operation was also to a high standard with plenty of attention and friendliness to all patients.
What could be improved
My only slightly negative feedback concerns the time taken by the Pharmacy - 2 hours - to issue a prescription for painkillers. Whilst I accpet the pressure on beds for which the Departure Lounge is a welcome innovation it was not somewhere to spen too much time with a large dressing waiting for the painkillers.
The Pharmecy prides itself on the new picking system which is supposed to take only 20 seconds for any item. If this is the case why does it take 2 hours for the items to be made available to patients?
