What I liked
The care, the treatment, the ward accommodation, the medical and nursing care, friendliness, respect and the whole experience of what was a major operation.
What could be improved
The only down side was the time I waited for the operation.
Anything else?
On 11th July 2010 I was admitted to Ward D6 of the Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth for a total hip replacement and was discharged on 15th July.
During my stay I was extremely impressed by the standard of care I received. It was better than exceptional. During my working career I always used Private Medical Care but QA was equal if not better than the private treatment I have received in the past.
It was not possible to say a big thank you to everyone before I left, so I felt writing was the next best option.
From the top, the Surgeon and their orthopaedic team, the anaesthetist, the whole theatre team, the recovery room team, the ward team, occupational therapist and not forgetting the cleaning and catering staff, thank you all for the exceptional care you showed me.
The NHS often takes a battering, some of it probably deserved but my experience has shown it can equal and even better Private Health Care.
Please could you give all concerned my heartfelt thanks.
Yours sincerely
Barrie Jones
