What I liked

The hospital is filthy with windows that are grey with grime, I commented to a member of staff and was told "thats how it is all over", I watched a couple of porters walk past me as I was washing my hands going in and out of the ward. My brother is in hospital with an infection linked to a few cancers and did have a nurse with him most the time but today he was walking around on his own and confused as his mental state is not good, he is halucinatin and was supposed to be having a bath but was left alone, the place needs a massave shake up

Cleanlyness, staff hygene

We would like the opportunity to properly investigate and address your concerns over your brother’s care and would ask that you contact the PALS Support & Complaints Team on 0117 342 3604 so that we can try to do this.

We do appreciate that the presentation of the main building could be better. As a city-centre hospital located next to a busy main road, the exterior of the building is exposed to a lot of pollution and without regular cleaning the outside of the windows do become dirty very quickly. Unfortunately the costs involved to clean the exterior windows are high and we do have to prioritise funds for direct patient care.

We take staff and hospital cleanliness very seriously and recognise that there is always room for improvement in this area. However, overall our services have been rated as “Good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
