There are a few gems among the midwife unit here but unfortunately they are overshadowed by their inefficient and unprofessional colleagues. There is no point crying wolf to the media about shortage of beds when midwives take more than 3 hours just to discharge a patient and wont even update the patient on the process or how long it will take but instead saunter slowly around corridors dragging a bp machine that doesnt work half the time. The hospital should clearly publish its discharge policy for transparency and accountability to taxpayers and ensure that KPIs are met effectively in this regard instead of fobbing both outgoing patients who are kept endlessly waiting and incoming patients who have to sit in pain along corridors waiting for beds that are already freed up. When i pointed this out to a midwife they laughed!!! Disgraceful.
"Shortage of beds in the nhs? Yeah right!"
