About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

What I liked

I was recently admitted to the the hospital. This was totally unexpected and I was initially seen by a Specialist nurse, who arranged for me to be admitted.

They were brilliant. I had never met them before. They were due to finish work at 14.00 but stayed with me until almost 16.00 just to make sure everything was going as they had planned. When I was taken to the ward, I was very pleased with the accommodation I had been allocated. It was clean, bright and quiet.

The nursing staff were very attentive and caring. They spent time listening and tried to help me wherever possible. There were other very good staff members on the ward as well. Especially the night staff. I had regular visits from the doctors and was very fortunate to have my own specialist on call that weekend. This gave me extra confidence in my treatment.

I was very surprised by the quality of the food. It was very good and I was also visited by the dietitian, who enhanced the menu for me. I am used to Private Health care and I can honestly say that this experience was brilliant. There was absolutely no need for me to have the private cover, as this was the NHS at its best!

What could be improved

The referral system from one department to another is slightly confusing and caused slight delays in admitting me.

Anything else?

Thank you to everyone concerned.
