"i vomited in the sink in A&E ..."

About: Barnsley Hospital

What I liked

i vomited in the sink in A&E and told the nurse and she said "you'd better clean it up then hadent you" she didn't follow up cleaning with cleaning solution afterwards so the sink would be left full of bacteria, i didn;t clean it properly because i was feeling dizzy and unwell, i just used the tissue i had in my hand and a bit of water.

The department was not busy at all, it was about 5am and staff were standing around talking.

The nurse in question was someone in authority and she was rude and extremely ignorant and arrogant.

What could be improved

The sink should have been cleaned to remove bacteria as soon as i had finished vomiting.

Anything else?

The member of staff was rude, ignorant and arrogant, Obviously did not like getting her hands dirty, too much trouble for her. Her behaviour was disgusting. She has put other patients health at risk,

Thank you for this. Given our outstanding record of cleanliness, we take information like this very seriously. If you would like to contact the PALS team at the hospital, we would be happy to fully investigate this incident.
