What could be improved

the doctors and nurses need to introduce themselves to the patients and visitors

I am a Deputy Team Leader at a Hospital.

my dad was admitted to the medical admissions ward (at the back of A/E) after being admitted through A/E via GP admission.

the medical registrar didnt introduce himself, although he was very helpful in trying to get treatments necessary for my dad.

one nurse came to the bedside to take bloods, he didnt introduce himself.

one nurse came to do MRSA screening swabs, she didnt introduce herself.

one nurse came to take personal details from my dad and when i asked her who she was, she covered her name badge up and said "thats none of your business"

The consultant on call came to see my dad with his team and the firsat thing he said was "hello, my name is xxxx and i am the consultant on call tonight" - he was the only person to introduce himself.

Abit later, my dad wanted to find out what time he was going for an xray, but the 2 nurses who were doing the bed next to him were too busy talking about one of them going off on planned sick that they didnt even register that he was talking to them.

I had to then go to the desk and get someones attention to find out what was happening.

His stay on the ward for 6 days was ok and he was discharged when he was better.
