"The nurse on the Horsted Keynes ..."

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

What I liked

The nurse on the Horsted Keynes Ward was very professional and caring. My room was clean and kept that way through regular cleaning.

What could be improved

I required a special diet but this was not followed.

There was a trolley for drinks outside my room and cups were forever being washed and stacked, even in the middle of the night.

Worst of all I was discharged with non-soluble stitches although I was told they were all soluble. They caused me to be in agony with every movement causing me distress. When I returned to the hospital after a week I was given no explanation as to why the stitches had been left in and the stitches were removed by a doctor without any care for my welfare - I was screaming with the pain.

Anything else?

I wrote to the Chief Executive and they would have received the letter on 14th June, and an email on the 13th June. It is now the 21st June and I've had no acknowledgment let alone a response to my letter. The Welcome booklet given to me on admission gives a phone number to call for complaints. Having tried the number twice and not received a response I have discovered that the number is out of date.
