"Staff were frist class at North Tyneside General hospital"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was asked to attend the North Tyneside General Hospital (Rake Lane), ward 5 for a foot operation under Mr Coorsh. Unfortunately when we got to ward 5 it was being upgraded, we went to ward 3, the sister on this ward found that we were expected on ward 20, quite a walk from where we were. The sister, telephoned ward 20, found us a wheelchair and was very helpful.

On arrival at ward 20 (we were expected) and were allocated a nurse who filled in the appropriate forms of admission, then helped me undress and put on the theatre gown. The Consultant came and explained about the operation, the Anesthetist what to expect. In fact the whole team from the domestic to the theatre team were absolutely wonderful.

In the last year I've had treatment at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle General and Wansbeck Hospital, the treatment and the staff at the North Tyneside were absolutely first class. I would like, if possible for you to pass on my thanks to all concerned, it is so nice to see people tending to their work in such a caring manner.
