"I have received out-patient physiotherapy ..."

About: Wigton Hospital

What I liked

I have received out-patient physiotherapy treatment for various conditions on numerous visits since 1995. My late Mother was an in-patient, prior to admission to a local care home. My Wife is a current out-patient for optholmic reasons. In all cases I have nothing but praise for the management and care available at a local level. All food is cooked on site and is excellent in quality and variety. All wards are single sex and range from single to four person occupancy. The Hospital, as have the other community hospitals in Cumbria, been saved from closure by public pressure and are now more positively linked to ongoing care from the three General Hospitals in Cumbria. A good use of local and available hospital care.

What could be improved

The Hospital is not busy enough to justify the provision of in house catering for visitors, however, the availability of vending machine food and drinks could prove a useful addition.
