"excellent service in every way"

About: King George Hospital

My mum went it to have an operation on a umbilical hernia, from the moment we arrived at the ward we were welcomed with polite, friendly and professional staff.

They were attentive and thorough at all times.

The surgeon and the anaesthetist explained the procedure in such a manner that put our minds at rest and helped settle any worries we had.

The operation went well and the surgeon came to see us afterwards to tell us how it went and what to expect afterwards.

The room and ward were very clean and all the staff were attentive to the needs of all the patients around us as well as my mum.

The nurses were excellent and one nurse was so good with my mum from the moment we arrived on the ward when they filled in the paperwork needed, to the aftercare following the procedure and providing us with all the information we needed for recovery at home.

The nurse wanted to make sure that we only went home when they thought my mum was ready to do so and was there monitoring her recovery as well as another nurse, taking her blood pressure and making sure that she was drinking enough and passing water.

The non medical staff were also very helpful, from the staff delivering food and drink/water to the cleaners keeping the ward spotless you felt that they really cared about every element of their jobs.

We also saw how they interacted with other patients in the ward and it was the same excellent service for all.

I cannot thank the staff enough for all their good work, kindness, support and professionalism and we are grateful for all they have done. Thanks so much.
